We had a busy and interesting time around the centenary of the 1916 Easter Rising. We gave a series of talks around  the North of England and  in Dublin where we told the story of the  Manchester Volunteers in the Easter Rising. We showed  some of the fascinating pictures  we have collected, and Robin Stocks, the author of Hidden Heroes of Easter Week, told some of the tales we have unearthed. During many of  the talks, Julia Earle,  Liam Parr’s cousin (once removed),  performed some of the songs that he had sung at the time of the Rising. We enjoyed the talks and it was fascinating to meet  members of the audience who often had their own fascinating stories to tell.
